Marty McEagleton - Retro Eagle
Created for the 3D Character Modelling unit at Swinburne, Marty McEagleton came about through randomly selecting an animal and an adjective for it. I ended up with Retro Eagle and thus Marty was born.
Starting from the conception stage, I was encouraged to build a reference sheet for my character that included a backstory as well as reference images to the various elements of the character's design.
After the deliberate process of creating the character through various stages of peer review and tutor consultation, we are then required to produce the 3D model of it in Maya as well as keep good topology and fully texture it.
Part of the final submission also included a video showreel showcasing the various layers to the model as a 360 degrees turntable animation shown below.
